Poor deluded souls. Or muppets, depending on how harsh you’re feeling.

March 17, 2009

A story about thousands of Christian followers flocking to a church on the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion. And the reason? Well, they’ve discovered the face of Christ in the folds of a cushion.
Seriously, I kid you not.
They even had to limit the time that these mentalists spent staring at said cushion as they had managed to make the whole area’s traffic grind to a halt. And that’s what’s really scary. They can believe in any old nonsense and because they claim to have “faith” it seems to mean that we can’t tell them that they’re barking.
Here is the “divine” cushion.

Christ? Or for Christ's sake?

Christ? Or for Christ's sake?

Again, no amount of telling them that they’re wasting their time will make any difference. You can read the whole article here.

Who do you think it looks like? I reckon there’s a bit of Bob Marley in there. Or is it Merlin the Magician? Or is it just that the light happened to throw a shape into relief and that these desperate nutters have latched onto it and are milking it for all they can?
Watch out for the Virgin Mary appearing on a slice of toast near you soon.

How long has Christ resembled Mr Potato Head? Crazy fools.
